CFA/DSE MEDIA ACCREDITATION
Media staff wishing to enter CFA and DSE firegrounds must successfully complete Maintain Safety at an Incident Scene training.
In times of bushfire and major incidents, CFA and DSE see the media as a partner in emergency management and value the role they have in informing and warning communities.
CFA and DSE welcome media representatives onto firegrounds provided they are wearing correct Personal Protective Clothing (PPC) and have undertaken the appropriate training.
The Maintain Safety at an Incident Scene course is designed to provide you with information that will help ensure your safety and the safety of others at incident sites.
Victorian and interstate media only have to complete face to face training once, and then every three years after that are required to do an online refresher to renew their training.
Once completed, CFA/DSE will issue you with a Media Accreditation Card, which you must present when attending firegrounds.
