Sunday 28th October 2012 marked the 15th Kalorama Fun Day Competition for CFA’s “Hills Group” of Junior Brigades.

Rushworth  P-12 Year 9 CFA Advance Fire Crew has been named as a finalist in the 2012 Fire Awareness Awards - Education. Volunteers from CFA Waranga Group brigades facilitate the CFA component of the program with a maximum of 16 students selected by the College via application.

On Wednesday 7 November students who make up the CFA Advance Youth Crew at Crusoe Secondary College, East Loddon P-12 and Rushworth P-12 College descended on the CFA training facility at Huntly to compete in the Loddon Mallee Regional Youth Games.

Passionate volunteers from Paynesville Fire Brigade visited Paynesville and Eagle Point Primary School’s on Monday 22 October.

Fire Safe Kids & Captain Don from Dartmoor Fire Brigade.It was all about Fire Safety when the CFA Fire Safe Kids program visited Dartmoor Primary School in South West Victoria this month.With 21 students from Prep to Year 6, the day was broken into a morning and afternoon session. The morning session with the Prep to Year 3 students covered Stop Drop & Roll and Get Down Low and Go Go Go! Great fun was had when the children practiced their Go Go Go under the smoke parachute.

Approximately 70 young CFA junior members together with their Junior Leaders, Judges, helpers, family and friends attended the 5th Annual Midlands Junior Cup on Sunday 14 October.

Young Drouin Firey, James HALL, entered the national competition for young people to promote volunteering and show others about the fun and benefits that young people can gain by volunteering.

The role families play in CFA’s volunteer culture has been explored in a wonderful video created by Gisborne brigade member Peter Harry.

Two Mornington Peninsula brigades have gone over and above their call of duty as firefighters by sharing their skills and knowledge with children with cancer and special needs.
