The fire is currently 50 hectares in size and is contained. An aircrane, helicopter and air observer provided air support for the firefight.
CFA crews have returned to station and DSE will monitor throughout the night.
Crews will continue to work to fully extinguish the blaze in the morning.
CFA brigades involved were: Ascot, Beaufort, Burnbank, Burrumbeet, Cardigan, Clunes, Creswick Group, Glen Park, Kingston, Kooroocheang, Langi Kal Kal, Learmonth, Miners Rest, Newlyn, Raglan, Talbot, Waubra, and Wendouree.
