The Minister for Police and Emergency Services Mr Peter Ryan opened the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) 2012/13 on 12th April 2012. The VESEP is an equipment grants program for local volunteer emergency services groups including the CFA.

This year introduces a new grant type available for CFA Brigades and Groups. VESEP grants are now available for minor works and non operational equipment to improve their volunteer amenities. These grants must not exceed a total value of $5k. Brigade / Group contribute $1667 and VESEP $3333.
The CFA VESEP Steering Committee has recommended the following categories are priorities for this funding round:-
- Improvements to Volunteer amenities (eg: carpet, furniture, hot water, air conditioning)
Items that enhance operational safety
New or replacement auxiliary operational equipment (eg: quick fill pumps, chainsaws, generators)
The provision of Brigade training aides (eg computers, white boards, projectors)
Field Command Vehicles to assist fire ground management
New or replacement specialist appliances
The replacement of aged fire fighting appliances

Application packs will be mailed to every Brigade and Group Secretary this week.
Completed applications need to be forwarded to your Operations Manager by Friday 4th May 2012.
