Just to re-cap, the objective of reviewing the CFA decals / vehicle livery is primarily aimed at creating a design that further improves safety for our firefighters, while also standardising a design to ensure consistency across our fleet, for both CFA-owned and brigade-owned vehicles.
Of all responses received, 769 members (37.8%) chose design three as their favourite. This was closely followed by design two, which attracted 649 votes (31.9%). Design four came in third with 460 votes (22.6%), and design one was the least popular option with only 159 votes (7.8%).
Out of 2,037 votes, 1,507 (74%) of responses were from volunteers, with the remainder from corporate staff, 272 votes (13.4%), career firefighters, 179 votes (8.8%) and 76 votes (3.7%) from the general public.
Next steps
We also received valuable feedback through comments on CFA Connect. This is being carefully considered along with safety specifications, additional research and the financial impact the final design will have on our organisation. It’s both essential and prudent to revise the survey results together with these factors in order to create a design that ticks all the right boxes.
This is currently being reviewed by Deputy Chief Officer Alen Slijepcevic together with CFA driver training, fleet, procurement and communications areas.
We expect a revised design to be circulated within the next two months.
