CFA has been working closely with local communities to update Township Protection Plans (TPPs) with relevant local information to help people prepare for bushfire.

A series of interviews on Vision Australia Radio is providing key bushfire safety information to help reach Victoria’s blind, low vision and print disability community.

Online FRV meetings ensure critical fire safety messages can be shared with community members unable to attend offline meetings. Incorporating the content of offline FRV meetings with embedded graphics, audio and video, these engaging one-hour meetings allow participants to be prepared for bushfire without leaving the comfort of their home.

Funding has been received to build two large heavy articulated vehicles to conduct summer fire safety education around the State – one for primary schools, and one for secondary schools.

The Home Bushfire Advice Service project is being promoted across Victoria through the CFA website, CFA Connect and local media. There will be several radio interviews conducted within the coming weeks.

A few weeks on from the launch of CFA’s Home Bushfire Advice Service, the service has been receiving a great response from residents around the Ballarat and Mt Clear area.
