It has been a very busy 48 hours for the Melton Fire Brigade, with a number of major structure fires occurring within their area.

The Bendigo Easter Festival is the oldest community festival in Australia, with it's roots dating back to 1870.

The fantastic work by Lilydale and surrounding brigades, shaking tins for the Good Friday Appeal, was dramatically cut short on Good Friday (6th April), when Lilydale and Mooroolbark Brigades were paged to a reported housefire in Chirnside Park.

Melton Fire Brigade was paged to a reported car accident with entrapment, and fire, on the Melton Highway in Melton last Thursday (5th April).

Just after 10pm last night (12th April), several 000 calls were made from concerned residents in Grey Street in Darley, after they spotted smoke and flames issuing from an old brick factory.

As part of Sunfest, Sunbury's annual Town Fair, Sunbury Fire Brigade, as well as a number of other surrounding brigades, took part in the Grand Parade in the morning, and Emergency Services Thankyou March in the evening last Saturday (18 March).

Just after 5:20pm yesterday (14 March), Caroline Springs Fire Brigade, along with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, were responded to a reported roof fire in a residential street in Hillside.

Bulla and Greenvale Fire Brigades were paged to a reported Burn Off out of control on the farmlet known as 'Glenara' in the township of Bulla late yesterday afternoon (12 March).

Point Cook Fire Brigade were responded to assist the Metropolitan Fire Brigade at a large factory fire in Fitzgerald Road, Laverton North, yesterday afternoon (12 March).

The first being a motor vehicle accident in Griffith Street, Bacchus Marsh, with one person trapped, and the second a structure fire that kept them busy for most of the morning in Darley.
