Firefighters had to wait for power company workers to isolate power to the structure before gaining access to the fire.
The fire was giving off a noxious smell so as a precaution an Advice message was issued advising residents to "close their doors and windows and turn off air conditioning".
The fire was brought under control at 5.25pm and another Advice message was issued advising residents that they could resume normal activities but to open doors and windows to ventilate their homes.
For current warnings and advice see the CFA website.
