CFA crews attended an incident where a tree had fallen through a house at Mt Evelyn this afternoon (7 Sept).

At 3.40pm, three CFA trucks from Mt Evelyn, Lilydale and Wandin were called to the incident with fears a person was trapped.

Upon arrival, CFA firefighters quickly discovered no one was home but a large gum tree had fallen through a back section of the house.

The family arrived home shortly after the incident occurred.

CFA left the scene just after 4pm but SES units remained on scene for some time cutting up the tree and placing tarp on the roof.
