Saturday the 18th August 2012 saw the Traralgon Fire Brigade celebrate another successful year with their Annual Dinner. The annual dinner was again held in a great setting at the Traralgon Winery.
One of the highlights for the past year was the arrival of the new 42Mt. Bronto Aerial Platform. With its arrival, the brigade has several more staff allocated to man the appliance. This in turn has meant the station under went expansion the the staff area with extra dormitories added. Along with the extra staff, some of the current staff have become Assessors for the Bronto and a couple more almost completed their Assessor accreditation.
Along with the increase of staff, we have also seen our volunteer numbers increasing which gives the brigade a great future.
The night also saw many staff and volunteers receive service awards. The staff to receive awards were, Leading Fire Fighter Greg Fisher - 30 Year Clasp, Senior Station Officer John Radford - 20 Year Clasp, Fire Fighter Jay Cooper - 10 Year Medal and Fire Fighter Andrew McIntosh - 5 Year Certificate. Volunteer awards went to Life Member Roly Bates - 60 Year Badge, Life Member Henry Dunstan - 50 Year Badge, President Don Stuckey - 40 Year Badge, Fire Fighter Frank Eenjes - 35 Year Badge, 3rd Lt Josh Membery - 5 Year Certificate and Ex Lt Toni Shaw - 5 Year Certificate.
Junior Fire Fighter of the Year went to Ben Bunston while Fire Fighter of the Year was won by Fire Fighter Leon Maltby.
The Auxiliary also saw members recognised for their service with several members receiving Life Membership's and/or service awards. Joan Jones, Lyn Eenjes, Lyn Day, and Coralie Stuckey received Life Memberships, Marion Tripp received a Life membership and 35 Year Jewel and June Membery 20 Year award, Joan Hill 15 Year award and Janice Eenjes a 15 Year award. Thes ladies have amassed a total of 233 years of service between them.
