Training discussion paper update

CFA members will have an additional two months to comment on the Operational Training Discussion Paper that has been out for broad consultation since June this year.

Executive Director, OT&V, Lex de Man said to date responses to the CFA Operational Training Discussion Paper are lower overall than we had hoped for and a renewed effort to encourage responses from members is now underway. “Feedback from this consultation process will directly guide the development of a new state-wide CFA Operational Training Strategy. Staff and volunteers are equally welcome to provide their input either individually or as a group,” Lex added.

“I wish to thank those who have already promoted the Discussion Paper and who have coordinated and hosted structured discussion and feedback sessions with DPCs, VFBV District Councils, Groups and other relevant local committees.”

The Discussion Paper seeks the views of all CFA members on such themes as leadership, setting training priorities, review of how we train, training facilities and equipment, flexible delivery and training consistency.

For quick reference, the Discussion Paper, short videos on each key theme, and the online survey response form can be found online at:
