Tarwin Lower and the Tour de Tarwin

The Tour de Tarwin is a fun and healthy family event that incorporates a walk and bike ride along with other healthy family activities over the Easter holiday weekend.

It commenced in 2007 with 270 participants growing to 1080 entrants this year.

The Tarwin Lower brigade has been involved since its inception and assists the organisers to ensure the public can enjoy a safe environment. Crowd and traffic control are the brigades main focus of involvement.

This year 15 members along with 3 junior members assisted over the weekend. This has resulted in the Tour de Tarwin commitee advising the brigade that they will receive a cheque for approximately $14,000.00 for their assistance with the event. Captain Robb Lawrie stated of his members "You all deserve a well earned pat on the back. Congratulations!"

I couldn't agree more. Well done to all for a fantastic effort.
