Stan awarded for 70 years' service

Stan Brown’s dedication to CFA has been recognised with a 70-year service award.

An article appearing in today’s Herald Sun highlights Stan’s impressive service history that pre-dates the founding of CFA.

Stan started fighting fires in 1940 with a band of local Yalca districts using a bamboo pole with a canvas beater on the end. Today, at 98, he manages the airwaves as the brigade’s communications officer and the secretary of the local hall.
