To kick off the weekend of celebrations the brigade will be hosting a special dinner including a dinner dance and three course meal at the Woady Yaloak Recreation Facility Smythesdale beginning at 6pm. (Drinks available at bar prices.)
The brigade will also be launching the brigade’s history book, "History of the Smythesdale Fire Brigade" that details the history of the brigade from the very early days to today. It will also be a chance for the brigade to present members with their service awards.
On Sunday the 19th of August the brigade will be opening its doors to the general public for an Open Day showing a collection of the brigade’s equipment and history. The brigade will be open between 10.30am and 3pm.
