6/06/2012 Torquay was paged to a fuel leak at the local service station.

On arrival Torquay Pumper discovered Fuel contaminated water leaking from the ground in the service station forecourt.

We immediately began building a bund dam to stop the water reaching the storm water system using soil from the nature strip. Torquay Tanker 1.Tanker 3 and Angelsea’s Pumper also attended.

It was a good turnout with a good roll up of members at what was a potentially hazardous incident

Police, Barwon Water and later Vicroads also attended to
clean up the site.

It was determined that a water pipe was leaking after the recent heavy rain event and bringing up Diesel that was in the soil. The fuel tanks were not leaking.

The Last Torquay appliance returned to Station at about 1:45am on the 7/07/2012
