Research T2 incident investigation

Posted by CFA Media

CFA has released the following statement after the publication of footage showing a tanker being driven through flood waters at Eltham:

The safety of CFA members is our highest priority.

While CFA commends the dedication of our volunteers, particularly at Christmas, it is unacceptable to see them placed at such risk while responding to an emergency.

CFA is concerned there has been a serious error of judgment and a formal investigation into the incident has begun.

A member has been stood down from driving pending the result.

While CFA members are well trained, errors of judgment can happen and we need to address them properly to ensure they don’t happen again.

The vehicle is being assessed for damage.
