This will be the third recruit training course held this year and will build on the Project 2016 target of creating 342 firefighter and operations positions.
Fiskville Operations Officer Chris Bigham says the course will run the usual scheduled sixteen weeks at Fiskville and will again look for some opportunities to visit other CFA Field Training Grounds.
“CFA instructors for the Course will include Leading Firefighters from the Bendigo and Mildura, Wangaratta and Corio fire stations,” Chris said.
The latest squad of recruits will initially undergo induction and familiarisation at the training College before proceeding to practical training activities.
CFA’s career firefighters play a key role in delivering fire and emergency service to the community at integrated fire brigades around Victoria.
Fiskville is in for a busy period in the immediate years ahead as additional career firefighters are recruited to assist CFA respond to the increasing demand for fire and emergency services in key Melbourne metropolitan and provincial growth corridors.
