Public speaking your greatest fear

How do you cope when you have to speak in front of a group of people? Does your mind go blank? Does your voice suddenly develop a nervous tremor? Do you feel like a complete fool?

If so, you’re in good company because time and time again surveys show that public speaking is the nation’s number one fear!

Or are you confident in your own public speaking ability and would like to mentor others?

If you answered yes to any one of those symptoms described above, then CFA District 13 Toastmasters may be the answer for you.

This newly formed club has members who come from all walks of life and locations: rural, urban, group, captains, operational and non operational members, BASOs, administration and Community Safety staff from the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

The D13 Toastmasters club is open to all EMR volunteers and staff, with meetings held twice a month at the **EMR offices in Mooroolbark.

Are you now saying to yourself, "I can’t commit to two meetings a month". That’s alright too. We aim to accommodate all our members’ needs. So come along, have a look and share a cuppa, because this may just be the opportunity you’re looking for.

All enquiries can be directed to Club President, Evan Thomas on 8739 4016 or via email on e.thomas@cfa.vic.gov.au
