An aggressive firefight by CFA and MFB firefighters managed to minimise damage caused by a garage fire in the Sanctuary Lakes area of Point Cook last night.

The fire in Middle Park Drive was reported shortly after 7pm (Wed 6 June) with the caller advising that all occupants had left the house.

The garage was well alight when firefighters arrived on scene and they cut through the garage door to gain access to the fire.

Smoke had spread throughout the single storey building but the fire was contained to the garage area.

The Incident Controller was Point Cook Station Officer Darren Miller.

Crews from Point Cook Pumper, Point Cook Tanker, Point Cook Car, Hoppers Crossing Pumper, and MFB attended the scene. A 'stop' was put on the incident shortly after 8pm.
