The brigade will showcase some of the many types of incidents faced by volunteer firefighters today.
“This will include demonstrations of a number of scenarios throughout the day, including road accident rescue and gas fire attack,” Captain Adrian Marshman said.
“We want to show the community a sample of we do and the variety of help we offer our community”.
The brigade will also have community safety information available including home fire safety tips and Township Protection Plans for the area.
In conjunction with promoting CFA within its community, Plenty Fire Brigade also hopes to recruit both junior and senior members from the day.
“The expo marks the start of our recruitment campaign as recruiting is a high priority for the brigade this year,” Adrian said.
The expo will run from 10.00am to 2:30pm at St Thomas the Apostle Primary School, 251 Diamond Creek Road, Greensborough.
The brigade also celebrated its 50th anniversary in June 2012 and currently attends more than 250 calls per year.
