UPDATE at 6.30pm, 31 Oct: The fire at Perry Bridge has been brought under control. The size of the fire has also been downgraded to 121 hectares. The fire was brought under control with the help of a water bombing aircraft. Firefighters can confirm one small shed was lost in the fire. Crews will remain on scene until at least midnight building a control line around the fire, blacking out and monitoring conditions.

5pm: This fire is not yet under control. A water bombing aircraft is due to arrive on scene shortly which will greatly assist firefighters battling the blaze.

3.15pm: Firefighters are battling a large, fast moving bushfire at Perry Bridge, near Sale.

The 150-hectare fire is burning out of control. Strong wind gusts are hampering firefighting efforts. Some properties in the area may be under threat.

CFA has 12 trucks on scene and two dozers are making fire breaks.

The fire is heading in an easterly direction towards swamp land.
