Firefighters Fundraise for Royal Flying Doctor Service after biker hits kangaroo

The first regional recognition event was held on 13 September 2012 to thank volunteer employers and brigade supporters for their ongoing commitment to assist CFA in achieving our mission.

Significant work occurs in the Barwon South West Region to engage with the local community.

CFA staff from the Hamilton Office along with families and friends are taking part in the Murray to Moyne bicycle team relay held over the weekend of 6 and 7 April, 2013.

Recently I was invited to spend the day with A Shiftfrom Corio Fire Station, not on Station but with the Staff and somedisadvantaged youth from Glenroy and the surrounding areas. 

There wouldn’t be many people around the Mt Cottrell group of brigades who didn’t know the name ‘Hirty’. And it is no wonder with the Melton Fire Brigade volunteer recently racking up more than 50 years’ service.

On Friday September 7, 2012, the Research Fire Brigade’s founding captain, Mr Laurie Cresp, turned 100 years of age.

Erika Nash was an intensive care nurse and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) qualified when she joined CFA in 2010. Just one year later she took on the captaincy of Otway brigade located in Lavers Hill, one of the original 52 identified high bushfire risk towns.

Not many people can say they've been involved with any organisation for more than 50 years, which makes Charles Kelly's roles with CFA even more remarkable.
