Today, Thursday, 8 October 2009 the Community Meetings Online System will be available to the public for the first time. This new system is a step forward in building on the customer service that CFA has prided itself on for many years.
The system is one of the 42 projects that form the Bushfire Preparedness Program and will allow the community to create their own account and log on through www.communityprograms.cfa.vic.gov.au or via the CFA website. They will then be able to register their attendance at meetings, express interest in starting a Community Fireguard Group or request extra information on a range of programs and services. The system will also assist CFA staff to organise and deliver meetings and maintain interactions with communities.
Once the new system has been announced, it will form part of a feature on the CFA home page that links directly to the Community Meetings Online System and some of the other new online tools announced during Fire Action Week.
