Mt Evelyn House Fire

Mt Evelyn and Lilydale brigades were paged to a reported house fire at 02.58 hours on 01/08/12. En route, Vicfire advised that multiple calls were being received. A red glow could be seen in the distance.

Upon arrival, crews were faced with a single storey mud brick house that was well alight. The single occupant had escaped the after trying to extinguish a fire that had been started from an open fire in a rear siting room. 

The call was upgraded to a make  pumpers  4, with further assistance coming from Wandin and Coldstream. Bayswater brigade assisted with their BA van, filling about 20 cylinders during the operation.
