Fire Crews from Mooroopna and Shepparton, responded to an early morning house fire at 07:11am this morning.

Taking crews 15 minutes to bring under control, the single story weatherboard structure was miraculously saved just in time.

Fire crew entered the through rear of the building, knocking down the flames just before flashover, containing the fire to the main living room area of the house.

The remaining rooms suffered a small amount of smoke and heat damage. The female occupant of the house was not home at the time of the blaze but her beloved pet dog “Roxy” feared the commotions, running into the blazing home and had to be rescued by firefighters.
