Fire investigators will return to the scene of an early morning house fire in Mooroopna North to determine its cause.

CFA was called to the fire on Echuca Road just before 2.00am today where a single-storey weatherboard house was fully-engulfed in flames.

District 22 Operations Officer Peter Brereton said a woman was at home at the time of the fire and escaped with minor smoke inhalation. She was treated on scene by ambulance officers.

“Fire investigators will today work to determine the cause of the fire – we don’t believe it is suspicious at this stage,” he said.

Ten trucks from Kialla and District, Kyabram, Merrigum, Mooroopna, Shepparton, Shepparton East, Tatura, Toolamba and Undera attended the incident with the fire brought under control in about half an hour.

The house has been totally destroyed.
