The Wimmera put on a hot summer day for the opening of the new Minyip fire station.

Peter Walsh MP officially opened the new building which is a type 1B station including a meeting room and kitchen.  The new station is part of the Rural Fire Stations program and replaces an old building which was no longer suitable to house the state of the art vehicles now in service.

Grampians Regional Manager Don Kelly conducted the event with CFA Board Member Reid Mather handing over a certificate to the brigade thanking them for their participation in the 2009 Campaign.

Peter Walsh also handed over the keys to a new Light Pumper which is to replace the previous pumper that has reached the end of its service life.
