Mercury spill at Bendigo pre-school

CFA firefighters have successfully contained a mercury spill at a pre-school at Myrtle Street Bendigo.

CFA was called to the kinder around 3.45pm (Thursday, 9 August) after a blood pressure machine broke, leaking the dangerous substance.

2 children and an adult were transported to hospital as a precaution.

It took firefighters from Bendigo CFA, wearing enclosed decontamination suits took more than an hour to conduct a clean up, before undergoing decontamination procedures.
