Malmsbury gets a heart start

Malmsbury Fire Brigade has recently taken possession of a Defibrillator after a significant donation from the "Preloved Pedlar" opportunity shop in Kyneton.

Captain Chris GRAY says: “its great that we have a charity organisation such as the Preloved Pedlar who do so much for the community” ”we see them doing so much for those in need and in providing us with the funds they have helped another community service organisation help keep their members safe”

The Preloved Pedlar also donated furniture and clothing to those in need after the floods in Charlton. Malmsbury Fire Brigade members organised a collection of goods to be taken to Charlton in early 2011 and a significant amount of those goods came from the Preloved Pedlar.

Chris says “the strength of our community is demonstrated in the support community organisations provide for community members. By working together we can only get stronger and provide an even better service to those in need”

Malmsbury Fire Brigade has a significant number of members who are trained in the use of a DEFIB and are conducting familiarisation sessions for all operational and non-operational members in its use. The Brigade has also purchased through the CFA all the associated training equipment and is helping run familiarisation sessions, including SOP and Policy sessions for other brigades in the Kyneton Group.
