In presenting the award, Eildon Lions President Frank Stow spoke about Lynne’s 20 year service coordinating the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal for Eildon and Thornton, and mentioned her work with Eildon’s blue light disco.
Mr Stow also spoke about Lynne’s many roles with CFA, including her work as Alexandra Group communications officer and group secretary and her significant contribution during the 2003, 2006 and 2009 campaign fires.
As well as local deployments to Incident Control Centres, Divisional Commands and Municipal Coordination Centres, Lynne has been deployed to Incident Control Centres in Benalla and Bairnsdale.
On Black Saturday Lynne worked at the Alexandra Group headquarters taking Triple Zero (000) overflow phone calls as well as working with the radios. She carried out these important duties while husband Bruce was sent into Marysville as a Ground Observer.
