Kilmore East Civil Litigation

As you may be aware, CFA was joined as a defendant in a civil class action arising from the Kilmore East fire on 7 February 2009. The proceedings were initially against SPI AusNet on behalf of a class of people who suffered loss and damage as a result of the fire.

To ensure CFA personnel are informed about the proceedings, answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) were prepared and published on the CFA Intranet and Brigades Online (links provided below). The FAQs are a key communication tool to keep CFA members informed about the class action and are updated when significant events occur or important information needs to be communicated. They were updated recently.

We strongly encourage you to read the information in the FAQs. This information can be found by clicking on the link below or at the following locations:

  1. Brigades Online > About CFA > 2009 Fires
  2. Intranet > About CFA > 2009 Fires
  3. Link to FAQ's (you will be prompted to log in)

Please call Yen Seah on 03 9098 8793 if you are unable to access the FAQ’s.
