CFA has attended a factory fire in Keysborough.

Crews from Dandenong, Frankston, Hallam, Keysborough, Patterson River, Scoresby and Springvale were called to the chrome plating and moulding business in Kirkham Road just before 6.00am today.

Operations Officer Peter Lucas said crews brought the incident under control just before 7.20am.

“Firefighters did a fantastic job to contain the fire to the one factory which is situated in a large industrial complex,” he said.

OO Lucas said as chemicals were involved in the fire, CFA’s Scientific Officer and EPA were also on scene.

He said fire investigators would also attend the scene today to determine the cause of the fire that has significantly damaged the factory.

Earlier this morning smoke from the fire was impacting Dandenong South, around Cheltenham Road and near EastLink, however, it has now cleared.
