Is your property clearly numbered?

The Mornington Peninsula Shire has joined with local emergency services to promote property numbering launching clips on YouTube and offering free numbers to local residents.

Police, the fire brigade and ambulance services all report that hidden or nonexistent property numbers can waste time, and in an emergency situation every second counts.

Owners and occupiers of all properties including vacant land are required by law to have a street number properly affixed and displayed at the front of their property. The numbers displayed should be reflective both day and night and the numbers should be attached to a letterbox, a post, a dedicated board or the boundary fence.

In addition you may paint the number on the curb and no permit is required. The Shire does not object to this additional form of numbering being undertaken. However, the Shire does not authorise any person or any company to perform this task on its behalf. Beware of scammers seeking payment for such tasks.

Any queries please contact the Mornington Peninsula Shire on 1300 850 600 or custserv@mornpen.vic.gov.au

Sorry folks, spellcheck warning!
Curb vs Kerb:
The Shire will not curb your activity should you decide to paint your number on the kerb outside your house.
