The boys will be in Darwin for a week and will also spend a few days fishing and sightseeing. This is their fourth trip to Darwin in seven years but the first time they have attended the V8 race.

After Saturday’s race, the boys met up with race driver Craig Lowndes and visited the Team Vodafone Holden Pits. Craig, who grew up in the Hurstbridge area, showed off the damage his car received during the race which he started in 20th position and finished fourth. Captain Darren King said, “It was great that Craig took time out of his busy schedule to show us around the Pits”.

Hurstbridge brigade has a long relationship with motorsport as the late Peter Brock was a brigade member in the early 1960s.
