Heath Hill - Yannathan Fire Brigade celebrated the official opening of their new station last Sunday, 17 June.

Member for Bass, the Hon. Ken Smith presented the new facility to the crowd and officially handed it over to the brigade.

The new station has been built on the existing site - some additional land was leased from an adjoining landholder in order to accomodate the new building and parking area for brigade volunteers. The building was funded by the CFA Rural Fire Station program.

Other CFA representatives were CFA Board member Micheal Tudball, SMR Regional Director Peter Schmidt, SMR Operaions Manager Trevor Owen and Operations Officer Jim Dore.

Some service medals were also presented to brigade volunteers by OM Trevor Owen and OO Jim Dore.

At the conclusion of the ceremony SMR Regional Director Peter Schmidt distributed CFA Firestar roses to those who attended. The plants were a donation to the brigades from Knights Roses of Gawler (SA) and Gardeners Gate Nursery of Keysborough.
