Halfway through the Q&A pilot

The online Q&A pilot is now halfway through and we’d like your feedback.

It would be great to hear more about:

  • How are you finding the sessions?
  • Are you happy with the timeslot?
  • Are there any topics you’d like covered?
  • Are there any guests you’d like to hear more from?

Sessions have attracted the following views/replays to date:

Click here to replay last night’s session with Acting Chief Officer Steven Warrington, who discussed Brigade Classification, Community Engagement and CFA’s Service Delivery Model.

The next session on Wednesday 27 June will focus on the Operational Training & Volunteerism Training Paper and be run by Executive Director of Operational Training and Volunteerism Lex De Man as well as Manager of Operational Training and Volunteerism James Stitz.

You can pre-submit questions or provide feedback on the sessions overall by emailing onlineforum@cfa.vic.gov.au

I find it difficult to get involved between 6pm and 7pm due to the demands of getting the kids fed and off to bed smilies/smiley.gif A later timeslot around 8pm would be better for me.

Do we have any numbers of how many log into the sessions ? .
Are questions that are not able to go on within the hour able to be answered via a reply in this foemat ?
Maybe a pager msg to advise of the sessions !
Great forun to have direct access to the top of the beast !
Would prefer a later time slot .

Good range of topics, not sure what I can add in terms of ideas. For me, around 7PM or later would be better. I'm often just getting home from the gym at 6PM, or I'm having dinner. Things are usually settled by 7PM. Wednesdays are a good day. I do have the occasional meeting, but it's one of the better days year round. The only other good day is Monday, as Tuesday and Thursday are tied up with CFA activities for at least 6 months of the year.

An option to continue the discussion in a non real time (messaging) format for questions which don't fit in the hour, or for those of us who can't join the live session for some reason. So far, I've managed to only find 1/2 of one live session. smilies/sad.gif

The last sentence should read "I've only managed to attend 1/2 of one live session". Brain and fingers don't always work together! smilies/cheesy.gif

I think the sessions are great but timing is a bit hard.
6smilies/shocked.gifopm is sort of dinner and kids time and it is a bit hard to be involved.....the one night I tried to do it I burnt the chapati and made spelling mistakes in my question. Obviously a bloke that cant do 2 things at once

Overall though - I think it is a great initiative

I asked a couple of questions last week where the response had little to do with the question.

Difficult or interesting questions by their nature sometimes will be hard to answer in an instant. I suggest that you ditch the live Q and A and make it questions on notice.
A followup question could be allowed.
