Tom Forrest, is the grandson of “Tess” a foundation member of the brigade and Captain for many years. Tom joins his father Richard and his uncle Fred who is currently a Group Officer. David and James Cleeland are the sons of Ross a current member and the grandsons of Rex another foundation member of the Brigade. The twenty-five members enthusiastically welcomed them in attendance.

It was a very special moment for the brigade and I was privileged to be a part of it.
Rob Gardiner the Mansfield Captain and Group Communications Officer was on hand to familiarise members with the new radios about to be introduced by the CFA. Once the system becomes digital, the radios will greatly enhance the safety of crews at fires as they incorporate many new features including a GPS and alert button indicating to incident controllers the tanker may need assistance.
Barjarg Captain Scott Maynes spoke of the need for members to continue to refine their skills, to be aware of the need to be careful and effective in the use of water at any incident and above all to stay safe.
The Brigade enters the fire season in a high state of preparedness having recently completed training session on burn-over procedures and grassfire tactics.
