Smoke was showing as crews approached the Pier One Drive address and then found the four storey building extensively involved in fire.
Fire-fighters managed to move a luxury speed boat at the front of the property in the early stages of the fire to prevent it from being damaged. The night was extremely cold with the temperature around the zero degree mark as members laid hose lines along the roadway to feed the Teleboom.
Senior Station Officer Andrew Delany from Patterson River fire brigade said gaining access into the building was quite hard as it is mainly brick and concrete in construction. Frankston Teleboom was used to work on the upper floors of the building.
Crews in breathing apparatus performed an internal attack after cutting open the garage door and entering by the rear of the building.
It appeared the fire started in the ground floor garage and spread into the living areas. Police and detectives are investigating the cause of the fire as the owners were not home at the time of the fire.
