Deputy Premier and Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Peter Ryan announced the policy along-side Fire Services Commissioner Craig Lapsley, CFA CEO Mick Bourke, Deputy Chief Officer Steve Warrington and Captain David Mustey.
"The outcome is that in time to come, we are going to use the CFA sirens as a warning device. There are 600 plus of those sirens that are still fitted in CFA stations across Victoria. We are going to integrate them through the emergency alert system," Mr Ryan said.
