The FireReady Roadshow is now ten stops into its 43 stop tour of the state, after recently visiting Castlemaine, Yackandandah, Wangaratta, Buninyong, Daylesford and Woodend.

Attendees have been really enthusiastic about the Roadshow. As well as having their questions answered and children entertained, almost all have left with a showbag that includes at least a FireReady Kit, Red Cross Emergency REDiPlan and a variety of kids’ materials and hats.

Highlights from the weekend include:

  • The kids attending the Daylesford Farmers Market on Saturday being treated to a visit from Santa and Captain Koala, who both got a lift with the Daylesford Brigade
  • The students of Yackandandah Primary School loading up on slushy drinks on their way to the end of year school disco
  • The Beechworth Brigade receiving over $300 from the BBQ fundraiser.

The next stop for the FireReady Roadshow is Apollo Bay at 10am – 1pm on Tuesday 4 January, between the Apollo Bay Surf Life Saving Club and Visitor Information Centre on the Great Ocean Road.

The immediate stops after that are: Lavers Hill, Torquay, Lorne, Anglesea and Aireys Inlet.
