Fire Commissioner announces reviews

As Victoria’s emergency services work towards an integrated and seamless response to all hazards and emergencies, the Fire Services Commissioner has initiated a number of Operational Reviews into recent emergencies.

Fire Services Commissioner Craig Lapsley said the reviews would focus upon single and multi-agency incident response to a range of incidents during the 2011-12 summer fire season.

The reviews will include:

• Wangaratta Nu Plex hazmat incident – January, 2012
• Westmeadows grassfire – January, 2012
• Yarra Valley Grammar School fire – January, 2012
• Landfill fires – multiple locations across Melbourne – January, 2012
