Torquay responded to a Garage fire at 5:35am Sunday morning.

The first truck found the garage fully involved and threatening the rest of the house. Further information from the owner revealed that he had an electric car on charge in the garage containing 80 lithium batteries and another 120 stored in the garage.

This was a hazard that was dealt with by only BA wearers on hoselines.

The fact that a solid brick wall separated the house from the garage enabled firefighters the chance to save the house however it was heavily smoke damaged.

Brigades involved, Torquay Pumper and Tankers, Belmont Pumper, Angelsea Pumper, Grovedale Pumper, Geelong City Ladder Platform, Corio BA Support.
