On Wednesday the 11th of July 2012, the Simpson Fire Brigade rallied together for a presentation evening at the Simpson Hotel, recognising the service and dedication of members within their team.

Eight members were recognised for their commitment to CFA and the Simpson Fire Brigade, with 180 years of combined serviced acknowledged.

Michael Crutchfield, Acting Operations Officer for District 6, graciously presented the well deserved medals and expressed, on behalf of CFA and the brigade, that a medal of thanks is not merely enough.

He acknowledged that CFA could not operate without the tireless effort shown by the volunteers who support the organisation.

Simpson Brigade members warmly praised Kevin Lenehan with a five year certificate, Leon Wetemans and Brad Mason with 15 year medals, Shane Banks, Casper Van Leerdam and Garry Matheson with 25 year medals, Alf Frith with a 30 year medal and finally Ray Hawkes with a generous 40 year medal.

Each member has displayed an outstanding commitment and should be proud of the contribution they have made to the organisation.

The evening was topped off with a scrumptious meal with their friends and families at the Simpson Hotel.
