Double storey dramas

A house was badly damaged by fire in Sydney Parkinson Ave Endeavour Hills around 9.40pm on Saturday night (9 June).

The double storey home was well alight when crews arrived on scene but were happy to hear the next door neighbour had alerted the sole male occupant when he saw smoke after he went outside.

Crews from Hallam, Narre Warren North and Dandenong attended the call and had it under control within 30 minutes.

Dandenong's Ladder Platform was called in to assist with accessing the upper storey after the fire spread through the wall cavities.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. Senior Station Officer Steven Keating was the Incident Controller from Hallam fire brigade.

Another house was also damaged by fire in East Cranbourne at around the same time. See story here http://www.cfaconnect.net.au/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=5120&Itemid=42

The odd thing with this job was that MFB P25 & P31 were also called on but soon cancelled, as it appeared to be an error.
