Large crowds from near and far to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Tawonga brigade. To add to the success of the occasion, we were very pleased to welcome Chief Officer Euan Ferguson.

Wodonga Group had their annual Round Robin Exercise on Sunday 11Nov12.

Two years ago, Leading Firefighter Andrew Schulz initiated a series of mentoring tactical exercises without troops (TEWTs) to get District 24 crew and strike team leaders warmed up for the fire season.

Barnawartha Brigade now into new home and enjoys excellent opening in near perfect conditions.

The Bogong Group, made up of 14 brigades stretching from Falls Creek through to Stanley, met at the Dederang Recreation Reserve (staging area) for an early and sunny October Sunday morning.

A fine day and a record crowd made this year's Wodonga Children's Fair last Sunday (14 October)  a huge success.

Video footage from the Hume weir transformer fire has highlighted how difficult the situation was for emergency services to control.

CFA has assisted NSW Fire and Rescue and NSW Rural Fire Service to extinguish a blaze in a power generator at the Lake Hume Power Station in NSW.

Like so many CFA members, Pip Johnson has her own personal bushfire history. Her great grandmother put her children in the vegetable patch under wet hessian sacks and watched her life burn down in 1939. Her father was CFA’s first legislative officer around Ash Wednesday and Pip patrolled burn offs on a bush block from age six.
