District 23 Operations Manager Stewart Kreltszheim shares his district's operations report for February.

With more than half the town’s population on its books, 23 junior members, and a brand new station, Springhurst Brigade is travelling along very nicely at the moment.  And Springhurst’s social club, like the brigade itself, is turning out to be a real success story.  

Almost all municipalities in Hume region have taken up the offer of FireReady sessions for their staff following a push to promote the program to businesses and employers.

Two tankers and the Benalla Group command vehicle attended an incident after a glider crash landed in a paddock outside Benalla.

At approximately 8:10pm last night (Mon 19 Dec 2011) CFA was called to respond to an alarm at Nuplex Resins in Gibson Street, Wangaratta.

Whitfield & District CFA members came to the fore when one of the competition cars lost a windscreen halfway through Stage 3 at the recent Targa High Country event, supported by 50 volunteers from District 23.

CFA is warning the community about the risk of haystack fires this summer, following a fire at Yarroweyah on Tuesday which destroyed up to 100 large bales and is believed to have been caused by spontaneous combustion.

A highlight of the  Barjarg RFB pre season barbecue and training session held on November 11  was the formal welcome to the Brigade of three new members who were grandsons of previous long standing members of the Brigade.
