Smythesdale Fire Brigade is set to celebrate its 150th anniversary this weekend with a dinner and ‘open day’ featuring a display of vehicles and memorabilia.
CFA continues to make good progress implementing the 10 recommendations laid out in the Professor Joy Report and 11 additional management initiatives at its Fiskville Training College.
“It’s been an unbelievable 12 months. Justin and I knew we were in for a challenge when we first came here but didn’t realise just how big it would be,” said Martyn Bona, Facilities Manager of Fiskville Training College.
Operations Manager Justin Justin first visited Fiskville when he was 17, working for three weeks as a work experience student. He is now the Operations Manager of Training Delivery at the site.
A month since it officially formed as a fire brigade, Eynesbury CFA is in full swing, helping to protect lives and property in the Northern and Western Metropolitan region.
At a media conference held yesterday, Chief Officer Euan Ferguson spoke about the public release of the Professor Joy Report and reinforced CFA's focus on the safety of firefighters.
