CFA & RFS Brigades held a Group Training Exercise at Echuca on Sunday 17th Oct.

Fire Brigades from Deakin Group (CFA) & Mid Murray Group (RFS) held a Cross Border Training Exercise at Echuca's Victoria Park. The Exercise had a "Top Gear" theme, with members alloted to a car team and then competed in 6 events.  These events included, "Burning Lap with Stig" (Fire Investigation), "Top Gear Challenge" (Ladders), "Pit Lane" (DMO's instruction), and "Celebrity Lap in a reasonbly priced Knapsack". Teams had to use gear from both services and think outside the square when trying match CFA fittings with RFS fittings.  Afterwards all enjoyed a BBQ and mingled with both new & old friends from the two services. With the amount of grass in the area from such a good spring both services are readying for the quick dash across the Murray to fast  running grass fires.

Cfa Brigades attending were:

-Echuca

- Echuca Village

-Tongala

-Giggarree

-Rochester

-Bendigo DMO

RFS Brigades were:

-Moama

-Deniliquin

-Bunnaloo

-Barassi

-Caldwell

Thanks to all who attended.
