Command Centre shifts to Darley

The Bacchus Marsh group of fire brigades has shifted its group HQ to a new site in the Moorabool Shire Civic and Community Hub offices at Darley.

Operations Officer Archie Conroy says it’s a great move because it brings together in one location the facilities for the Moorabool Catchment Team and the group HQ. “It will also be the location for the group’s Local Command Centre,” Archie adds.

“The Bacchus Marsh group was formerly housed in the rear of the Bacchus Marsh fire station, which is very tight for space so we took advantage of leasing some rooms in the Darley municipal facility,” Archie says.

The new site is fitted with the usual resources and facilities installed in local CFA divisional command centres.

Archie says another benefit of the Darley location is that the CFA office is very close to the Moorabool Shire Municipal Emergency Management facility.

BASO Irene Keating, who looks after 15 brigades in the Bacchus Marsh and Ballan groups says that compared to the old, cramped conditions at the previous office, the new office is “a really lovely place to work in an open and spacious environment,”
