Chief recovering after bike crash

Posted by CFA Media
Saturday, 24 December 2011

CFA Chief Officer Euan Ferguson is spending an evening in hospital following an injury to his hand he sustained in a cycling incident this morning.

Mr Ferguson fell from his bike on a morning ride through Hawthorn.

He has remained in touch with duty staff and aims to be home later on Christmas Day.

Deputy Chief Officer Steve Warrington has assumed the role of Acting Chief Officer.

CFA volunteers and staff wish the Chief Officer a speedy recovery; and the Chief, whilst very appreciative, has asked people to please "not fuss, I am ok".
